Broken Compression Adjuster Screw

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a 1999 Suzuki RM 250. The kid I bought it from had the forks and rear suspension rebuilt before I bought it, with paperwork to prove. The mechanic noted the broken adjuster on the right fork and quoted $200 to fix it. The kid opted not to pay to fix. The adjuster is sheered clean off fairly deep in its pocket. Is it possible to replace just and adjuster? Or just the cap? I can't seem to find any solutions in my research except to buy a whole fork assembly. Also, the forks are extremely stiff. Can I soften up the forks even with the broken adjustment screw? Thanks.

You can buy the complete cap assembly but it's not cheap, probably be $200

You can ignore it and just use the other side only
