Water Pump Cover Bolt

Recommended Posts

I am a die hard OEM parts believer on something like that. I would order one from an OEM parts dealer like Babbits.com. One bolt will cost more in shipping than the bolt, but it will be the right one. I just won't take a chance on parts that may work at the moment and screw things up later.

If length and pitch and head style the same, good to go. Honda does not make bolts, neither do Motion Pro. Outsourced. Myself, every time I remove a bolt from an aluminum part, I replace it with a stud. Nothing chews up aluminum more than repeatedly removing and reinstalling steel bolts into them. Much safer to use a stud and just remove the nut. I use acorn nuts if they will fit.

That's a great idea seedy and it makes sense, thanks.

Don't forget the dab of red Loctite on the base of the stud. Double nut, turn in until it bottoms, finger tight only. Wait for it to set up before reinstalling cover/whatever and nut.
