74 Xr75 stripped spark plug.

Recommended Posts

So I have had a xr75 that has been in the family for a long time, my grandpa got it for me and it ran great. It of course once I was big enough to ride it, it broke. That was about 10-11 years ago. I saw it sitting in the shop and decided I'm gonna restore it. Only problem is the spark plug threads are stripped out of it. We got a tap and Tryed to retap it but it didn't work. My question is can I get a helicoil or timesert to fix this? If so anyone know what size to get? I'd like to avoid replacing the head if I can

We've used Heli-Coils several times, they work great.
If your XR75 is in any kind of good shape its worth money.
I saw one at a bike show, looked perfect, guy was asking $9000.
1974 is the most valuable by far. Cool bikes for sure.
