99 125, No second gear after a rebuild. What did I do wrong?

Recommended Posts

I replaced the bottom and top end. I thought everything went back together correctly. I took pictures and referred to them during the rebuild. I do not have second gear now, feels like it engages just a little but mostly like a clutch that's slipping. First gear works, as does third and up. I replaced the clutch, clutch springs and cable. The cable is out as far as I can adjust it and still feels like it slips some, just a little change on the cable and it won't release in any gear. Thoughts?

Check shifting mechanism and segment . Hopefully something with those assuming there was no problem before rebuild?  Honda uses thrust washers on there pinion and drive axle .hopefully you didn't forget or sometimes when you split they stick to bearings and can fall off. But if is together correct and everything is good has no choice but to shift right.  Below is some yz250 gears I went threw. What things to look for if you have to split again . Sry some reason i thought bike was a cr. My bad
