06 YZ 85. Jetting baseline for 6200' elevation.

Recommended Posts

Let me apologize first off if this is a redundant question.

My friend bought a 2006 yz 85 for his sons 12th birthday. It was bought in ut where the elevation is quite lower than our resisdence.

Does anyone know of a baseline jetting configuration we can start with. We're at 6200 ft. The bike is stock. The silencer is pooring "spooge". Any help.would be greatly appreciated.

I can tell you this... We live in Heber UT at 7000 and he rides everywhere from 3800 and up... With the JD jetting kit I was able to use a 135 main with the blue needle and their pilot... With that set up it works everywhere from Delta to Lehi .. desert and track racing mixing 32 to 1 with 4 gallons of pump and 1 gallon of 110.. in the summer it gets rich when you are in the 9000ish ranch but not too bad.... I tried a ton of Yamaha needles and was always changing clip positions going back and forth from the valley. We were just in hurricane at 3000 and I changed the mail. To 140 to be safe but never had to to change the clip... It is pretty amazing...
