04 KX250f Chain Tensioners

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know the thread pitch of the chain tensioners?? Im working on my nephews bike, the bolts head and the lock nut are all mangled so im going to have to try to remove with heat and vice grips, but i need to get a tap to clean up the threads...

This link is for the bolt if anyone knows how to decipher the part number...

The most common for 8mm is 1.25 pitch. (Other is 1.0)

I would try laying the bolt alongside the 1.25 tap and try the tap through one of the lock nuts first to verify.

If you have a tap and die kit, there should be a set of pitch gauges in there. Use the gauges on the bolt to determine what it is.

I would do this if I had the tap on hand. Have to order one and want to make sure I get the correct one. I assume it's 1.25, but just wanted to double check.

OK. I just happen to be working on the bike here as well this evening. It's tight but as best I can tell with my gauge it is 1.25

Awesome thankyou!
