Jake Snyder Posted April 22, 2017 I have tried everything. Rebuilt the carb, new spark plug, checked throttle sensor, checked the wire, has spark. Can and chain is dead center. The valves are in specs, I'm at a stand still and don't now what to do, and have already tried bumping it..... Please help
cataway Posted April 22, 2017 sounds like you are saying the crank will not rotate ?
Jake Snyder Posted April 22, 2017 So I was riding the other day down the street and the slow needle that you adjust in the bottom of the carb backed out and the bike just died. And I have rebuilt the carb and done all the checks and she doesn't want to start. I don't think it's the crank. But I can tell you I'm stubbed and don't know what to do. HRC27 My Rides (2) Posted April 22, 2017 (edited) On my 03, the spark wire was worn half way thru. Check that and try diconnecting kill switch. Only needs gas, air, fuel and spark to run. Did you change or look at the vacuum release plate and seal on the carb slide? Edited April 22, 2017 by HRC27
HRC27 My Rides (2) Posted April 22, 2017 If it breaks, it causes hard starting, back firing, etc. If you sprayed contact/carb cleaner in the slide you may have ruined the seal. Those cause it to swell and distort.
Jake Snyder Posted April 23, 2017 Is that the piece that is where the main needle goes in the top portion of the carb. Like u said in a previous pay i was riding it and the slow jet at the bottom of the carb backed out and than the bike just shut down. I just thought it was the jet so I bought a rebuild kit and the bike still will not fire. I have been looking and maybe the stator/magneto ha a loose connection or something but I will look at the carb again if that is the piece I'm thinking it is in the picture, and yes I stayed carb cleaner all in that. Yes, #16. It's like $66 and change for It. Edited April 23, 2017 by HRC27

HRC27 My Rides (2) Posted April 23, 2017 You'll of course, remove the top then the screw on top of #9* then rotate the arm back and remove the slide. The VRP may or may not come with it. If it doesn't, retrieve it. * be sure to use the right screw driver, it strips easily (I know).
