Drz rebuild. High comp piston or standard

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I've got a drz400e and I've pulled it down for a freshen up but wanted to get your guys opinion if I should replace the piston with a factory one or a high comp? Any benefits or downsides to either?

the generic answer is more compression creates more signal and flow and by deduction conceivably produces more power .. the downside is the risk of detonation is higher so you have to worry about top quality fuel or additives .. i'd stick with stock, its got the stock ratio in there so the average cletus cant mess it up ...
