Help! Xr100 no start

Recommended Posts

So i replaced cdi, coil, plug,  cleaned the carburetor 4 times. Have spark and fuel. When i check compression with my thumb over spark plug hole its not enough to blow my thumb off the hole. I adjusted the valves to spec. 002in. Double checked my work. Checked timing multiple times its good. Still will not start. Kick starter had some pressure behind it when kicking but after adjusting valves to spec it got easier. Any ideas?

The very first thing I always check is a plugged pilot.  Can you hold it up to a light and see a perfect circle through it? You need to blow compressed air through it.  I assume you cleaned your air filter and checked your cam chain to see if it's loose or jumped.

Pilot jet and carb are all good. Timing is good and timing chain are good. Im thinking piston rings or valves bent? Valve clearances are set at .002in

Do you have a compression checker?  Can you do the kick starter pretty easy with just your hand?  It's pretty easy just to pull the head and check.
