4CS spring rate for a 108 lbs novice

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I am hijacking my boyfriend's account to ask for some advice...

I received my new TC125 2016 a month ago and obviously, the forks are way to stiff for my little self. I am a “novice level”, 33 yo female MX rider. I’ve been riding for 5 years. I’m 5’2” and 108 lbs without gear.

I read a  lot of bad stuff about the 4CS forks, but before jumping to conclusions, I just need to change the springs. I used the Race Tech calculator and it says that I should use .38 for the forks and 4.2 for the rear shock. I am not sure that it will be soft enough...

For now, with the stock springs, I have 93 race sag and 37 static sag with no preload.

What would you recommend ? Any insight is highly appreciated. I love this bike so much, can't wait to have the right set up!

Thanks.

At 145lb on a 250 I need a 36 rear spring ! Now way a 42 is right or even close, 42 works for 170lb on 250sxf , I would say 34 rear and 0.36 forks
