HELP! Buying Advice 2005 Suzuki DRZ 125

Recommended Posts

I am looking to buy a bike to take my 10 year old out trail riding on his 2001 XR100R, as this is his beginner bike.

I am 53 years old, experienced rider @220 lbs., 6-0 tall. Is this bike to small for me, will it have enough power or should I look for something bigger?

Any helpful advice is greatly appreciated, THANK YOU!

Hey bud, I'm exactly the same height and weight as you. I own 2 drz125's. It will definitely haul you no problem but it is not the most comfortable bike to ride for your size. Don't get me wrong I have a smile from ear to ear every time I ride them. It works just fine for trails even with your weight but suspension is working really hard. If I were you I'd try looking for something like the ttr225. It would fit you a little better, and they are pretty affordable.

+1 on the the ttr. Personally I love my drz and would never sell it but it's too small. The engine is plenty powerful to pull anyone around. They also make a 125L but it's not much bigger than the standard version. Xr200 is a nice bike too.
