Carb is leaking out of the fuel line nozzle.

Recommended Posts

I asked a dude at the service desk of a local cycle works shop and he told me the only option is to buy a new carb at this point.

I am curious would i not be able to just buy a carb rebuild kit and take it all apart for a good cleaning and reassembly?

Why do i need to buy a whole new carb because it leaking from the fuel line nozzle (in the seam where it makes contact with the carb).

Is this a common problem?

The only reason to replace the carb over that problem is if you own one of the few YZF's that does not have a pivoting fuel inlet.  Otherwise, there is a tiny little screw adjacent to the fitting that holds it in the bore and the O-rings Steve linked you to will cure the problem.

I am so glad this post is here. I took my carb apart to clean it today and the o rings pretty much disintegrated. thanks for the link!!!!

3TJ-14562-40-00  O-RING

3TJ-14952-40-00  Brass WASHER

3TJ-14160-40-00  COIL SPRING

Assemble in that order from the bottom up
