Whining noise when slowing down with clutch engaged

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

Took my 2011 wr450 out yesterday. Later in the ride, whenever I'd pull the clutch in and the bike would slow down, it would make a whining noise that lasted until I came to a complete stop.

Havent noticed in in higher gears, only 1-2, maybe 3rd. Just did an oil change recently, put in 10w40

any ideas?

Pop the clutch cover off and inspect the clutch components. Also might sound silly but my front wheel made a high pitched wine in the slower speeds, Mine was the speedo cap that goes on the wheel hub. I tested with wd40 and found the issue then re greased.

If it's a whirring / vibration noise, that is normal when the clutch is disengaged.....and with the rpms low, you can hear everything.

These motors are basically audibly scary at all times...
