2003 WR 250 clutch

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I've been working on my WR for weeks. Replaced the clutch and now the cable is too short. Tried original and new. Cable housing is fine, inner cable is full 1.5 in. Short. Have pulled clutch 4-5 times and checked and rechecked. Put old clutch back in. Nothing works. Any idea's. I'm stuck. Thanks

In other words, is it that the clutch push lever seems too far away from the end of the cable?

Yes. Replaced push lever with new, including shaft. No change.

Replaced clutch boss and basket too. Clutch was engaging while was suppose to be disengage. Think that's right.

Trying to roll with clutch lever pulled in .

If this problem started after replacing the clutch parts, I can only guess it's either that it's put back together incorrectly, or some of the parts are not correct for your model year, or a combination of both.

Carefully study your WR250FR Owner's Service Manual.

Come back and post what the solution was, please.
