2003 XR 200

Recommended Posts

Justt wanna get some thoughts on this bike. I can probably pick up for around $500-$600.  All my experience is with the older XR stuff .   With that being said I was just wondering if these are decent bikes as far as power and suspension and that type of thing. I have not went to look at it yet but he says it runs good.

Motor is good old Honda two valve, so no worries there. Chassis is good. Suspension on the later models like this one are down graded and not spectacular, but can be upgraded without huge expense. Drum brakes that work OK once you get used to them. Definitely worth the money if it's a runner.

Yea I know the pre 1992 or so had more seat height and better suspension...Isn't there several years of XR 250 shocks that will bolt on also?

For sure the early mid 80's XR's (pre white ones) are at the top of the list for me. Love the Blue ,Red and Yellow ones.  Always wanted one as a kid but never did have one until the last couple of years and I'm mid 40's.....Took me awhile. Lol

There was not an 03 XR200R. Check the 10th position on the VIN number, right side of the steering head. If it is a number it is model year of the bike, e,g, 1=2001, 2=2002. If a letter some examples: V = 1997, W = 1998, X = 1999, Y = 2000
