Need to remove magneto to split the cases ?

Recommended Posts

The Clymer manual says i need to remove the magneto to split the cases, but it then goes on tot say lay the cases on the left and lift the r/hand side off.

So do i really need to remove the magneto ? If I do I need a puller - not a big deal, just a bit of delay.

I guess it depends on what you plan on doing after you split the cases. Why you're splitting the cases. If the crank is coming out, yes the mag needs to come off.

i just need to get to the pesky paperclip gearchange spring, so i don't expect to take the crank out.
