2017 beta 500RR-S rev limiter?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, just got my new 500 RR-S. Awesome bike. Still have my Wr250R which is a fine little number, but the Beta is in another dimension. Love the power and light weight.

So a quick question. My Wr250R has a rev limiter so there is no way to damage the engine by revving too high.

Can anyone tell me whether 500 RR-S also has a rev limiter? Just wanted to make sure before I rev her out after passing the 15 hr break in period.

Many thanks for comments.

Mark

All four stroke bike motors have rev limiters. The limit is way past the power peak, so there is no reason to go up there anyway.

In nuetral, the rev limter is 500+ rpms lower, just in case.

Do NOT baby the motor and keep the revs low during break in. Just don't put a long or heavy load on it. Use all the rpm range.  The rings NEED to see high pressure behind them to seat well. Lots of brieft hard throttle and deceleration will do this greatly.

15 hours, that's a long wait! Heck my sons Endurocross race bike only had 12 hours on it at the end of the season and it saw the rev limiter a lot.

Seriously just ride it normal, which includes revving it out.
