Showa SFF cap tool

Recommended Posts

Regarding removing the base valve from the cartridge on the current KX250F Showa SFF, is there an approximate size of six point socket that will work?  I don't have the fork yet but I'm trying to get my tool situation sorted out beforehand.  Seems like something I shouldn't need a special tool for.

I have the Tusk cap wrench tool.  Just thought I needed something else to get the base valve out of the cartridge.  That six sided rectangular part appears to be flush with the top of the cap, or close to it.  My Tusk tool does have a cutout in that same shape but it would only work if that part of the cap protrudes above the outer portion of the cartridge.

Looks a lot like a 36mm six point might work too though, which is what I was wondering.
