Just picked up a 2006 YZ450F- New to the Yamaha four stroke

Recommended Posts

Brought home my first Yamaha YZ450f  and Its feels and sounds different . Coming from a long span of Suzuki RMZ's . In fact I traded a 08 rmz250 I had laying around for this bike .
Pretty familiar with the FCR carb but other then that I know nothing about the bike .
  I have in my arsenal a 2000 rm250 , 2016 rmz450 ,2014 KTM 350 sxf and now this Yz450 .
Is there any issues I should pay attention to other then the general maintenance I deal with with the other bike ?

Read through the above posted Common Threads topic.  Pretty normal stuff, really.  Clean oil, clean filters, fresh coolant.....

The air filter in particular should be serviced prior to each ride day.  I used to keep 4 elements around, and had at least two cleaned and oiled and ready at any one time.  For whatever reason the inside of the air box one the '06-'09 is an exceptionally dusty place.
