I tried that one this weekend in tight woods, can't explain why but it didn't seem to corner as well with it.

Motocross Action talks about this and how the HPSD Isn't really a true dampener.

I knew that, but it didn't affect cornering in a positive way either on this bike.

If you read the article it states that many of their testers didn't like the effect in had on steering either.  I remember with the 08, for example, they went back and forth with whether or not to use it. In the end, they decided to keep it on.

how you tune those....

you take them off and throw them in the trash or in the street

and you drop a scotts on there, setup so you cant feel it
