Hi guys

Just had a major oil leak after a previous repair had failed

Looks like a chain has failed and cracked the casing by the flywheel. The po had repaired it by filling the crevice with rtv

My question is

1 should I be looking at getting some different casings and using my internals

2 why I'm in there is there anything I should do as a matter of course( oil pump/ big end bearing) or is it a case of if it ain't broke

3 should I swap out a complete engine. Mines a 85 with 40,000 on it.

If your savy with a major overhaul then yeah swap the cases ,personally if it were mine and and I have done it with great success, clean the rtv off and replace it with some Devcon special f ,it's expensive but way cheaper than an overhaul
