2017 450 Spring and AER rates

Recommended Posts

Looks like RaceTech changed their numbers again on what they are suggesting for these bikes. My calculations called for 162 PSI up front and a 5.5 in the back at 220 without gear.
I was running a 5.4 in back but went down to a 5.1. Seemed much better to me. If I try that PSI in the AERs, I get beat to death in the chop. Generally run around 157 but get just a bit of head shake under heavy braking into the braking bumps. Plan to raise my triple clamps to restore that balance instead of more air.
Curious what other guys are seeing. On my 2015 450 SXF I ran everything higher because the suggested rates where just to soft. On the 2017, seems opposite. Anyone else seeing this with suggested setup?

200lbs, 152psi with 46nm 105mm sag. 154psi with 48nm, 38mm static. 156psi with 36mm static 48nm. All to get the bike balanced. However, massive armpump issues with 155-156, still there with 154 and 153 so went to 152psi and also 46nm and now all is good.
