Time for a new rear tire?

Recommended Posts

Just broke 3,000 miles on my '16 supermoto... mostly highway commute miles. Sides are fine because I haven't found some good twisty roads yet, but the center is looking pretty bald. I'm leaning towards some Shinko 705's for the next set (mostly street/commute but would like to hit a trail on the weekends). Thoughts?

Haven't used any dual sport tire but I will say that the Avon AV54 Trailrider my friend has been running impressed me. I rode his bike on the road briefly and was surprised at how smooth they were. He kept up on the track really well with them too. If you're mainly commuting I'd imagine any knobby to go square pretty quickly. And from what I've heard these 17" dualsport ones are not a big advantage on the trail.
