WP OC fork question

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering how everyone is holding the cartridge on thier OC forks to tighten the bottom adjuster at assembly?  I usually am able to press the damper rod over to one side and tighten to spec but on the current forks (2015 200 xcw) this method does not work at all.  I've resorted to using my impact on the lowest setting and give it a blip.  So far I've had success with this but I hate using the impact.   Thanks.

Compress the fork as much as you can and hold compressed with a tie down strap, blip with impact and check with torque wrench, sometimes it spins if you don't blip with impact first before using torque wrench. This is what I've been doing with kyb open chamber forks.

Impact for disassembly, impact for reassembly.  Compress the fork if the cartridge spins and it zips right in or out.  Usually just a few inches works.  Just enough to load the spring perch.
