Oil from sparkplug drain hole

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Was out riding this week and noticed i started to have a bit of oil comming from the sparkplug drain hole. I cleaned it off several times and found it would come back with a drip or two after another 20-30 mins of hard riding.

I had some problems with the valve cover gasket not seating correctly, so no doubt thats the problem but its pretty hard and probably needs to be replaced.

Has anyone used the Tusk ones (like this one), or is the OEM gasket still the best option?

Thanks!

The OEM one can be found for the same price and I would be inclined to use that one over an aftermarket. Generally speaking, OEM parts are better quality. I have no experience with that particular gasket, so I may be wrong.

Kinda what I assumed, found OEM was only a few hours away so ordered it and will be picking up after work.

Prob could have gotten away with just cleaning and reseating the old but figured when in Rome...... replace rubber so I don't have to go back a month later 😛
