YZ450FX trany in YZ450f, any chance?

Just hoping you could put yz450x trany in yz450f?  Not happy w fx for Baja.  Cannot carry enough fuel. 3 gal shroud tank puts to much weight up from with 1.3 gal number plate tank.  Do not want DC electrical system either.

All the '10+ YZ450F's have DC electrical systems to run the EFI system.

IMS makes a 2.5G tank.  Acerbis makes a 3G that can be fitted up with a smaller battery and some clever placement.

Last I heard IMS is about to release a 3G tank (non-shroud type) that would have a battery relocation arrangement of some kind.

The transmission is a bolt-in deal.  You will need the main shaft for certain, since the first pinion is cut onto it, and you may need the output shaft due to changes in the splines for the 4th wheel gear.  That has been the case for a few years, but the current 450F may be the same now.
