Temp Gauge Trail Tech vs rad cap

Recommended Posts

Thinking I'd like a temp monitor on my bike. I can go simple with the rad cap one made by Tusk or go a little more involved with the Battery powered one by Trail Tech.  With their system you can monitor either coolant temp or cylinder head temp. The Tusk rad cap gets mixed reviews in terms of durability and readability. Just wondering if anybody has the Trail  tech one. Is cylinder head temp a better indicator of how things are running (Jetting right) vs the coolant temp?

Tia.

I run both via different bikes... As far as reliability I have had the cap and the coolant sensor fail... The cap registers a little warmer... I also have ran the one on the fins which I have not had fail yet... But the coolant seems to give the most accurate reading ... The others can be 10 degrees or so off. I think they are a great tool in know if there is a problem starting that will leave you stranded
