Nice!! Get your tools out and chop that thing up so we can see it mounted!

Adjusted the mirrors; adjusted the suspension; added a battery tender (resulting  in need to reset the clock); installed the two Ram mounts; treated the Plastics with SC1 and now I'm going to see if I can get some dirt and mud to stick to it.

No biggie, but Hevy reminded me I needed to get the off road ABS dongle. I had to bend the positive cable a bit to fit. Works like a charm where the snow is burned off, on ice, not so much.  I took the occasion to also add a tap for my heated gloves. Not sure I'll use it, but already have the gloves for the street. :excuseme:

Nice, now just remember that while trail braking into downhill, off camber, gravel strewn pavement corners, that rear brake will lock up very easily.

I went for a two hour ds ride after work last night, it was 29F, I didn't really have any fun. The terror of riding ice covered backroads and long sections of rutted frozen mud got me my ride fix though. And it was pretty out. 20181206_164028.jpeg.2ca7ad49f205307416a19b78980f0a67.jpeg

Where ya at? Looks similar to my topography

So, today, I tried to figure out how to get the cables out of the way of the instruments.  Anyone have any quick hints?  Getting tired of not seeing my turn signals flashing away.

Thanks.

I love my First Gear Jacket.  You definitely need the liner in cooler temps though.  How did you wire your powerlet?  Straight to the battery?

Yea, straight to the battery, it's that double wire you see running over the positive. The gloves are 2.3 amp so I fused it 3 amp, you can see the fuse holder if you follow the wire up.

I've looked at this. About the only thing you could do is on the right/upper side (standing on the bike) of the headlight shroud, drill two holes and thread a zip tie through the holes. This would create a loop behind the shroud that would allow you to pull the cables forward, slightly improving your view. The cables move up/down on the other side on compression and rebound, so I don't think this would be an issue. You'd not want to cinch the zip tie down tightly anyway. But, not sure if you like to drill holes in your plastics.

A simple zip tie gets the cable and hose out of the way of the cluster.

I since moved the tie to the upper right as you suggest, single hole, tighter, but not tight zip tie. Works fine and I don't mind the holes.

Great ideas. I'll give it a try.  Now, someone needs to buy a ton of orange zip ties and then market it as a KTM 690 Enduro Hard part.  But what do we call it? 😉
