Where to ride in Minnesota this weekend!

Recommended Posts

Welcome to another beautiful weekend!

This weekend of May 27th, we have:

District 23

  • MX is Cambridge and Millville, presumably organized practice on Saturday if you're just a "professional practicer" like me
  • Off-Road has nothing, but you should be getting ready for Huntersville Enduro on Sunday June 4th (3rd for youth)
    • Hare Scramblers should be getting ready for Meadow Valley on Sunday, June 11th

Open Motocross

  • Arkansaw, WI
  • Meadow Valley

Trails

  • I'm not sure here, this site http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/ohv/closures.html shows that some places are closed, where Snake Creek and Trout Valley in Southeast MN show open.  Could be they got hit with less rain, have different soil or drainage, etc.

Geez that's about all I can find.  Pipe up if I'm wrong somewhere or you know more places open this weekend!

This weekend of June 3rd, we have:

District 23

MX is a real treat this weekend, wherever you go.  Brookston, which I've heard great things about being fun and all, and Mora, which I know is a fun track!  Echo Valley Motocross in Brookston (http://echovalleymotocross.com/) and Berm Benders in Mora (http://bermbendersraceway.com/).  I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Motokazie has their series going on; as a practice-only kinda rider, I will be enjoying this Saturday's Jordan, MN practice on their newly expanded and laid out, widened track.  This is the last "Saturday practice" that goes from 11-3 until August!  This track is close to the west metro, and great fun.  http://www.motokazie.com/

Off-Road has the Huntersville Enduro on Sunday June 4th (3rd for youth).  http://www.armca.org/our-mission/clubs-promoters/river-valley-enduro-riders/

Also a hare scramble will be the following weekend at Meadow Valley on Sunday, June 11th.

Open Motocross Practice

Arkansaw, WI

Meadow Valley

Trails

Any updates from people in the know?

thanks, have another great weekend!

The Mora enduro has been cancelled for that date unfortunately

You are correct!  I see that now too.  Any idea why?

Any other open riding people know about?  I think Kellogg has open practices going on now too...?

I do not know for sure why the enduro cancelled, it's a bummer though.

It is under water.....one of the club members almost lost his 2017 KTM 250XC, the water was over the handle bars!!

Oh damn.  Not good!  My family property by McGregor has been too wet to ride still this year too.

Glad at least it isn't some kind of land dispute type of thing.

Meadow Valley is closed for open riding Sunday, because, as I understand it, the hare scramble will use the moto track!

Must race to ride on Sunday.

See you in the heat tomorrow, my brothers and sisters of the dirt.

Lots of face slappers two weeks ago.   Single track starts about 25 minutes into Part 2

PBFR are suppose to be out this weekend doing trail maintenance, I hope to get back up there on the 5th and 6th to do some trimming.

Yes the trails were pretty overgrown.

This is from the Trail Boss:

We can use any and all help this year. Please consider spending a day or even a few hours helping this year. The forest is more overgrown than we have ever seen it. Whether you are working the event for points or racing it, we can use all help. It's not putting your race in jeopardy until the course has been marked which won't happen until the weekend before the Enduro.

They are having a Trail Blitz July 8-9 to clear the trails.

There is also logging on the West side by the Trailhead.
