Replacement foot peg spring

So I have some large MSR foot pegs. The left one is fine. The right one is missing a spring. My spare parts bin has a spring, that is the mirror to the spring on the left side, but when I put it on, it pops out of the peg. I was looking, and I don't even see MSR pegs for the DRZ400S. It is almost like the spring on the right side is too short, it pulls out of the hole when the peg folds back.

found out the issue today, pretty sad what it was... looks like the po dropped the bike, and the peg boss on the frame bent upwards and is cracked!!!!! that is why the spring no longer sits properly...... really wish that would have been disclosed..... oh well, live and learn.... going to try and smack it back, and see if someone might be able to weld it.....
