My first 2017 EXC 500 impressions

Recommended Posts

I finally picked her up this morning and did a bit of offroad in the neighborhood. Nothing much but it gave me a very good feeling. The suspension feels a bit stiff, need to adjust that. Power is amazing without the cat, the snorkel killer and the titanium akra. Did you say wheelie?

Power comes in gently but is brutal when you rev it. Thank god for the traction control, which I will leave on permanently. The bike isn't as tall as my 2013 450 exc was. Will be even better with the lower comfort seat. That's it for now, keep you posted!

Nice bike.
Custom tank?
Gorgeous setting by the water there.
Where abouts are you?
I have a 2010 450 Six days and can't wait to pickup a new 500 this fall.

The tank is an Acerbis 15 liter tank, looks very lean, perfect fit and quality.

I'm in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with limited offroad options unless you are creative ;)

The tires are maxess enduro

Hehe. It's software and a sensor that notice wheel spin and change the ignition curve to reduce power in slippery conditions

Not available on the US bikes til you remap & wire the switch yourself.

Reading the manual I found out that using the TC/Mapping switch is illegal in the NL. In fact your bike is then not insured. Strange cause it should give you better handling, thus a safer ride... anyway, I'll keep it on!

is TC option or standard in Europe?

TC and mapping switch is standard for the EU bikes.

Not quite. I does come standard on the 6 days and you can order it on the F and the dealer will map it for you. However, it's not street legal and you are then officially not insured. Although I doubt if anybody's ever going to check if something happens.
