Honda crf 70 back pressure through oil filler

Recommended Posts

My Honda crf70 started blowing a lot of smoke, so I changed the rings. Still blowing a lot of smoke after ring change. Opened the oil filler/dipstick and have a ton of back pressure through crank case. Could have been doing that before ring change...I don't know. I bought standard sized rings. Should I have bought oversized rings? is this a valve adjustment issue?

Cylinder is most likely glazed over not allowing the new rings to seal against the cylinder wall. Combustion pressure is probably blowing by the rings and into the crankcase creating the pressure in the oil filler hole.

Are you sure the rings are for a 70?
Maybe you mistakenly got rings for a 90.
