Compression

Recommended Posts

I bought a ttr 125 for cheap because it had low compression you had to bump start it and the guy didn't want to fix it (he needed money for his yz) so I put a new piston head, rings, and head gasket on it. And it still won't start I haven't cleaned the carb and the timing chain is about a tooth off any ideas that it's still not starting or do do you think cleaning the carb and getting the timing straight will fix it?

One tooth the wrong way could bend a valve.

One note on compression... With the BBR cam installed your compression test will be difficult. The BBR cam overlaps a lot more than the stock cam and this lets the gasses out pretty fast when kicking to check compression.
