XR600 '92 VS '96 Differences?

Recommended Posts

I'm about to pull the trigger on an XR600 and the choice is between ta '92 and '96. The axle was smaller on the '92 and there is something about that and possibly the fork being a 2 year only part. Other than that I'm not aware of any differences. Enlighten me! Money is about the same, but one is much further away. Both look unmolested. Help!

If your just riding easy, the 92 should work, but if you ride hard go for the 96. Remember the 4 years newer might bring in more $ if resold, & you wont have to go through the hassle of someone else questioning the 92 axle. How much far away?

The 92 does not use a cartridge? Just damper rods? Ok didn't know that. What else?

Well, 93 was the change in axle diameter...Im not sure about fork styles but pre nineties for sure werent...an Im to understand a couple early 90s years werent cartridge system yet...

Itll say it on the fork, (unless its thrashed, scratched or sanded off)
