deep cycle battery charging

Recommended Posts

I have a marine deep cycle bqttery that I just use for my electric boat motor for my little 12 foot aluminum fishing boat. I have 2 options on my charger, a 2 amp trickle charge or a 10 amp fast charge. What would be the best way to charge battery? I would think 2 amp but I may be wrong

Thanks

Little Jeff

Either would be fine, but 2 amp would be a little better since a slower charge is technically better since there is less heat involved.

2 amp. It helps to break down the sulfate on the plates.

I would look at getting a 3 stage smart charger. Smart chargers will Bulk, absorb and float charge

Agreed.

I used to charge my 190Ah battery for the cabin with a 750mA Battery Tender. It took 3-5 days, but worked fine.
