Does the expansion pipe on an sx-f or xc-f 450 get hot enough to burn over the boot leather pants?

My 2009 xc-f 450 roasted every pant leg I had until I bought a pipe guard.  I'm wondering if the extra surface area of the bigger expansion portion of the pipe on the new 450's dissipates heat enough two not burn through leather sided pants.
