X-Ring chain on RFS KTM 450?

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of dual sporting my 2005 KTM 450 EXC, and I want to swap to an X-ring chain. The setup I'm looking at is a Renthal Twin Ring 48T rear and a Renthal steel 14T countershaft sprocket. I'm thinking of using a DID 520 VX2 x-ring chain, but I am not sure if I will run into clearance issues.

Everything I've read leads me to think the narrower x-ring chain should be fine, but I was hoping for some input from some of you who may have done a similar thing to your RFS. Thanks in advance!

The vx2 is as thin as a vt2, they are the thinnest xrings on the market. No clearnance issues

Thanks, Spud! I also haven't forgotten to report back on the 15T clearance issue with my shifter peg; I just haven't been home yet [emoji58] Gotta love OT when you work 24-hour shifts!
