2001 kdx 220 engine oil

My buddy has a 2001 kdx 220 and he doesnt know what kind of oil to put in the crankcase. What does it call for from factory. Or what should i tell him to use. Thanks

The crankcase (engine) is lubed by.... premix!

the gearbox on the other hand isn't picky, wet clutch safe 10W-30, 10W-40, 15W-40, even ATF (auto transmission fluid) will do.

Most run 1 full quart. It helps quiet the KIPS.
