The self sealing compound that your nitrogen needle pierces when you gas up a shock or bladder forks.

It's called a septum, like in the top of a vial of injectable drug. Needle pierces and it self seals on withdrawal. Silicone I believe. Also used in gas chromatographs. Been awhile I'll try and talk to you tomorrow.
