Cam identification

Can anyone tell which model cams I have? Would be nice to know if I have decomp before installing a kickstart.

Those are Hotcams. Take a pic from the top of the exhaust cam to see whether there is a decomp.

Best pic I have until tomorrow. Maybe the PO got the ex cam used? Gear looks older than the intake.

I can see the decomp in that pic, but what really draws my attention is the intake cam. Based on the finish it may be a 2003IN.

Exhaust must be a stage 1, correct? What is the 2003IN?  You can barely see "IN" engraved at around 10 oclock in the first pic.

Numbers mean more than 'stage'; odds are good that the exhaust is a 2048.

That explains the wear. Thanks for your help. Think the 2250 is $200 better?

Based on the dots instead of paint, my guess is they are late issue 2047 and 2048. They are the old, new style stage 1's.

Just an educated guess looking at Hotcams spec's, the new stage 2's are the same as the old stage 1's (2047/2048) minus the adjustable sprockets. They also decreased the recommended lash setting by .02mm while the lift magically increased .02mm.

Nope. Ohio described the 2047/2048 VS the 2251/2252. Thought the intake could be a 2003, but looking at my 2003, it too has black lobes.

I have the 2003-1N and the 2003-1E cams in my DR-Z  old stage 2 cams
