17 300rr and x trainer pressure plate torque?

Recommended Posts

Cant seem to find the pressure plate torque spec for the 17 300rr and the 17 trainer?

looked all over the manual and on the CD can't find it

Can someone help me out please?

Are you referring to the 4 bolts where the springs are?
If so page 67 of the service manual online says 10Nm in a cross pattern like lug nuts on a car.

Bolt torque isn't bike specific. It is based off the design of the joint and materials used. From what I've seen with my XTrainer, the manuals are lacking. If you happen to have another bike/service manual, the values from it can be applied directly assuming the component and bolt sizes are the same.

7 ft lbs max, but really since this is not a structural component or a sealing component, you just need choke in on a T handle and tighten it up.

If you go past 10 you run the risk of snapping the bolts.

Thanks guys

I finally foun the shop manual on beta website

Why dont they just give that out?

It would be nice to have one but I'm glad they have it online and use the resource for other information that I would normally not have access to. As far as the owners manual; I took my cd to a local printing firm and had it printed out with a thicker front and back cover as I like a handy place to make notes, cost a whopping $6.00.
