Tranmission fuid and gear lube for 1986 kx250

I drained the tranmission fluid and gear lube. What sort of tranmission fliud and gear lube should i use.

Also i got a little dirt in the tranmission what should i use to clean it

Lots of things will work.  Common products for that application include ATF and Shell Rotella.  There are several trans specific lubes such as Bel Ray Gear Saver and Motul Transoil.  It all works.

Anything in there you don't want in there can be removed by a few oil changes.  Fill it, run it for a few minutes and drain it.

On a 2 stroke, I wouldn't run anything other than ATF. If you ever had an automatic transmission apart, you would know why. It's a great low viscosity gear and clutch lube that's clean and long lasting (how often do you change your trans fluid on your car?)

I've been using it since the early 70's and never had an oil related trans/clutch failure.
