Has anyone Flat Tracked DRZ?

Recommended Posts

Kinda heavy to be flat tracking it, IMO. I think it's already a pig when it comes to mud riding.

Serious AMA racing, no.  Local track, why not.

Used to be involved with Speedway bikes, would love to do this.

A DRZ rider has to be aware of a high CG which affects lean/washout in turns.  Look at the current Speedway bikes with lay down engines.

Costa Mesa Speedway has a 450MX race.  No comparison to a dedicated Speedway bike, but fun to watch (better to ride).  The Harley Nite races, well just watch and enjoy.

Is this a stupid idea?

Hell no probably will get your ass kicked by the real race bikes but so what. Back in 2009 and 2010 I race ESMRA Englishtown NJ in the Novice class on a DRZ SM. It was a blast to Old for that stuff now and made the mistake of getting rid of the DRZ SM and buying a 2010 KTM 690 Duke. Great bike but its not a Supermoto.
