Anyone know what this tape is?

I bought my DRZ and didn't notice this bit of tape on the side. Do you guys know what it is for and if i can just remove it? it looks terrible.

That looks like cloth tape used to stop a leak in your coolant overflow tank. The tank can get cracked when jumping stuff or dropping it on a rock. You can get a new/used tank on ebay and replace it easily, or do the turkey baster mod.

Also, file down your shift lever and get case guards.

Someone cracked your coolant tank. I have a similar mod on mine, but I used fibertape and uv glue

Not factory that's for sure. Remove the tape and fill the reservoir through the radiator overflow tube and see what happens,it might explain why.

bucket list showed you a great alternative, let the kid finish the formula first before yanking the bottle out of the kid's face.

Firmly believe in make something from nothing.  Here's mine.  Could do something similar for the oil recovery tank.
