Cylinder gouges

Recommended Posts

Well to start off I bought a 1993 cr250 cheap in hopes of fixing it. It wasn't running because the guy took it apart and needs the cylinder needs to be re plated. The guy bolted it all back together when I bought it though. As I went to take it apart I seen he had pried the cylinder away from the cases using a flat screw driver. Am I out of luck or is there something I can do? Or maybe the base gasket will still seal it. What do you guys think. Here are some Pics of the damage. Thanks for you help. IMG_0243.JPGIMG_0244.JPG

you could weld it up and mill it flat.  Truthfully, if it's not that deep, a clean application of some gasoline tolerant RTV like Yamabond will get you there with your case gasket.  Not TOO much pressure there.
