TTR 125 ticking when running (like a sewing machine)

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, my TTR 125 has recently been making some strange ticking sounds when running. Rides fine, starts fine, it just makes a strange ticking. Thought it might be the oil, but I changed it (i had accidentally been running the wrong consistency), and it still text. My neighbor's quad did the same thing when he rebuilt it, and he said something about the Piston rattling. We jokingly say our bikes sound like sewing machines. All that to say, I think I will try to adjust the valves. Will that help? Also, where are the two valves on my bike? Any tips welcome! Thank you

Sounds like valve's are ticking. They are located under circle caps on top and bottom of head.

Tuank you. That's what I thought.
Tappets probably need adjusting
What year / model is it ?

2015 Yamaha TTR 125.
