2010 suspension upgrade

I have a leaking fork seal so while I have them apart I am looking to put heavier springs in as I'm  105kg (230lbs) give or take. With the adjustments available on the standard valves I was going to leave them in.   With the current suspension I find the bike tiring to ride,and have noticed that on some faster flowing sections of track the front suspension is pushing through the full length of travel.I  bought the bike second hand so I have no idea what springs etc are in it.  I no longer race enduros but still enjoy beating my mates when we trail ride. Bike mods are an Arrow slip on and Lithium battery to reduce the weight carried high on the bike..

I recall the springs being marked at the top. Having the correct springs for your weight will make a big difference in fork performance.

My owners manual says stock spring has no marks at top and the heavier 0.49 kg/mm spring has 3 scribe marks. That's what I installed...I'm 180lbs + off-road gear and backpack.

Stock is 0.47 kg/mm

Lighter spring has 2 scribe marks, 0.45 kg/mm

 

There may be stiffer aftermarket springs, too...

Thanks mate. have been given prices for Race tech springs for front and rear to suit my weight. Will probably go this way and give them a rum before I look at doing valving

Definitely...once you are sprung correctly, you can play with clickers and fork oil weight to get it tuned for your individual riding style...may not need expense and time of revalve...

I have the option of Factory Connection or Race Tech springs that I can get from a couple of the Suspension tuners that will sell direct to me without sending the forks to them for repairs.
