2012 WR450F suspension settings - I keep ripping my plate off

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I don't know a ton about adjusting suspension, so I'm hoping for help on my 2012 Yamaha WR450F. I understand being that I'm 240lbs, I likely need stronger springs, but I'm trying to just make the best of what I have right now.

The issue I'm having right now is that the hard fast hits on the front seem to want to send me over the bars if I'm not careful, and hard hits on back buttom out the suspension and either tear of my license plate or, in the case of Saturday, tear off my entire sub-fender; light, plate and wiring in one shebang.

I think i need to soften the front up a bit and stiffen the back. This means I need to lower the compression in front and raise in the back; not rebound, correct? Thanks.

You need to put a cable tie on the forks too see how much travel you are using ,I would think you need to stiffen both the front and rear
