Hi All,

Have 2 blown xl600lmf engines that I was planning to use to get one back on the road, sounded possible. Top end one's piston had broken a valve off and bounced it about a bit so a right mess. Cam and followers shot. Sent them to Newman's who called and said cam had already been reground before so nothing could be done. They can make me a new one for 2-300 quid, gonna send them cam nr 2 see if it can be ground. Anybody confirm if xr600 or xl600r cam will fit.?

Any advise appreciated

Looking at rebore and new wiseco piston again any advise would be good, bottom end seems ok, what's best way to check?

Will post some pics when on the pc

Thanks

All XL 600 series (R,LM,RM) will fit, as will XR 600 series until 1988 when they changed the cam chain and rocker design. The XLR and the XR has a tach drive gear machined into the cam but will not cause any issues. The late model XR cams actually can be made to fit but needs some machine work.
