2005 kx100 parts

Recommended Posts

So I know some use the cr80/85 forks on the xr200r. I found a complete '05 kx100 for $250 on craigslist. He states it's locked up from the kids using wrong gas. I'm guessing gas without 2 stroke oil.

I'm just wondering if I should buy it and rebuild and flip it, or use the forks on mine and part the rest out. Any thoughts?

Depends on the overall condition of the motorcycle, and extent of engine damage causing it to lock up.  Usually the piston seizes in the cylinder before damage is done to the crank (not always though).  If the cylinder isn't damaged it could just require removing aluminum deposits from the cylinder and a new piston kit.  Until you can pull the top end it's hard to tell............

Makes sense. I hate finding things like that and not having the money right away to jump on it. I have the money but don't, and can't justify buying it just to sit in storage til I had the extra money to do anything with it
